So musical numbers in sacrament meetings are supposed to be of the highest quality possible, and then we encourage everyone to participate in ward choirs. Doesn’t anyone else see a looming contradiction here?
Ah! But the angels will fill in the rest! (For the record, I have never been at church when the choir singing could be described as sounding like angels.)
In one ward we were in the choir director only allowed certain people in the choir. If you did sound good at your audition you weren't allowed in the choir. That ward had a very small choir.
