Turn this mutha out

So can somebody tell me when Mormon celebrations of Mothers Day stopped being about Mothers Day and started being about Every-Female-Person-Over-Eighteen Day?

They kept it mothers only in our ward pretty much this year. Until they discovered they had made like 3x the number of Hershey's Kisses in tulle than they needed. Then it became all females no matter what their age day. Fritz suggested we do the same for boys some time.

Mommie says, "That's right. That's exactly right! It's a bunch of bunk."

I don't understand it either. I believe its the world of everybody gets a trophy. Just because you are and aunt or own a dog, does not mean you should be included. It kinda is one of those things that only authentic moms should get recognized for.

An aside. I enjoy your blog, just found it today while looking for information on testimonies. Might be a little abrasive, but necessary.

I agree. It is more humiliating for me to receive a "rose" or whatever they were giving out that year, than just to be ignored. I hate mothers day at church and do not go on that day!
