The n+1th commandment, where n≥0

Seriously, i’m tired of the meme that the first commandment given to Adam and Eve was to have kids. The first one we have record of? Sure. The first one ever? We have no way of knowing. (And that’s even assuming the Garden of Eden story is non-allegorical, which the church has no actual position on, as far as i can find.)

Since it is the first one we know of it is logical to consider it the first commandment given to humans. It was at least the first important enough for both Moses to write it down first and for the scribes and such to not remove it.

Can we really use that logic though, what with a belief (under canon, even!) that many plain and precious truths were removed from the scriptures?

And like i said in the original post, we’re under no obligation to believe that the Garden story isn’t an allegory or an otherwise non-factual symbolic teaching of deeper truths, so whether such a commandment was actually given at all is an open question for Mormons.
