I feel the presence of God’s love much more intensely in the Old Testament than in the other parts of the standard works. People often look at me strangely when i tell them that, but it’s true.
Most people can't understand the Old Testament. They are probably looking at you strangely because they are thinking "Wow... And I can't get past the begets."
I have heard other people say that.

And when i tell them that ‘begotten’ is simply the masculine equivalent of ‘borne’ they look at me like i’ve sprouted a dictionary from my forehead.
ReplyDeleteI guess i could always pull them in by telling them to just read it for the sex and violence, and hope that understanding will follow.
I would agree with this. The Old Testament is my favorite for many reasons.
