They don’t look identical to me

Serious question: Where did the sacrament=baptism thing originate? I mean, i don’t see where the covenants involved line up (aside from the way that all covenants line up)—so why do we talk about the sacrament being the renewal of our baptismal covenants?

I've wondered that, too. I don't remember ever hearing it until about 5 years ago. Like I never remember being taught it as a kid. So either it wasn't or I skipped class one too many times or I just didn't pay attention. Any of those three are possibilities.
